Week 0: Sunday

[She's back in her room after the execution, looking somewhat sick. Sharpay didn't mean anything to her. They weren't friends, they had barely spoken.

Rebecca was unaffected by knowing about her future execution on Saturday. After the fact, she looks shaky. It's different.

It's different when she has to watch somebody die.

She's curled up on their bed with the covers pulled over her head.]

Cardia has been out and about, talking to at least a few people and trailed by a corgi. But she's also tired and hasn't seen her roommate, so when she heads back to the room--

There she is. Cardia's going to hesitate for a minute, before gently placing a hand on the blanketed lump. ]

Rebecca?

[The lump moves a little bit.]

What? How pressing is it?

It's not. I just wanted to check on you.

[disclosures]

I just... I watched somebody die.

[It wasn't blood, but it was worse, somehow.]

I know. It was unnecessarily cruel.

[ like a farce?? ]

Their partners are fine.

But... [Ugh.] Sharpay was young. Seeing the blood, the way she died... I know she killed Gi-gan. [But that was too much.]

[discardia]

It doesn't mean she deserved that.

[ yeah, she knows. ]

[disclosures]

I don't know what a Happily Ever After would've been. Do you think it would be worse or better?

[discardia]

I'm... not sure.

[ can she sit on the edge of the bed, she's gonna. ]

I don't think we'll find out until we vote for it, but it sounds so... definitive.

[ granted, so had Sharpay being impaled?? ]

[She can sit there but Rebecca is still underneath the covers. Maybe she'll come out a little later.]

Being killed like that is definitive too. Is it about their partners? Is that all?

[ it's fine, Rebecca can be a blanket bear. ]

-- That's possible. But then... it's not as though we had a chance to vote for Gi-gan. I don't know why Sousei would have been spared, too.

There's still so much we just don't know.

We'll know more the longer this goes.

But I really don't want it to keep going.

I don't know who I'm supposed to trust.

[ Well. She sure said that solemnly. ]

[There's a laugh, but it's very tired.]

I won't kill you either.

Should... we talk about what our powers are? Or those goals, we have?

I don't know if you'd be comfortable with that today. You're already dealing with a lot.

[ she's still very much a blanket lump. ]

[She will pull the blankets down and peer over at Cardia.]

I really need to focus on something else or I'm just going to replay that carriage over and over.

We can talk about it. Or you can hold Sisi, if you'd like.

[Dog cuddles sound good to her.]

Sisi-- [ actually, she's going to have to pick him up from the floor because of his stubby little legs, but then she'll hold him out to Rebecca.

Good thing he likes ladies. ]

[disclosures]

[She sits up, takes Sisi and buries her face in his fur.

For a little while, she's completely silent.]

Okay... I think I'm ready.

[discardia]

Do you want to go first?

[ hopefully the corgi helps. ]

Sure.

[She keeps petting the dog to keep herself calm.]

I'm the Little Mermaid. I need to be silent for a whole week, including the trial.

[discardia]

... Sounds more like a punishment than a gift.

No, that's the task I need to do for another gift.
