Week 5: Wednesday
[It seems like she's trying to reach for something small up on a high ledge. There's a stack of tables arranged in almost a staircase as she grabs whatever it is. She doesn't know who's around her and what the result of touching it is going to be.
But once she's grabbed it, the memory bubble starts, Rebecca staring down at her own hands, uncomfortable with the revelation she's almost making.]

therapy's not a common thing in the magi world. if so, waver would have definitely gone there instead of self medicating with an age old scrap of fabric and vintage video games.
but he knows when to spot a therapy session gone wrong and that is definitely one of them. ]
What an unfortunate series of events.
[ however, the scenery changes before he can add any advice or commentary. it changes to a room with regal decorations...it looks like it comes out of a mansion or something.
and the person in view was a female about eighteen or nineteen, in a white negligee made of fine silk and covered in an incredible amount of frills. a lot of that, however, is hidden by a dog plush the stranger was holding.
"wh-wh-w-w-w-why are you people in my room?! why are you here?! if you have an excuse, spit it out already!"
both waver and a hooded girl beside him stood speechless, maybe too frozen in shock to say anything. hesitantly, waver brings a hand up to his forehead.
"...err, please, uh, wait a second..."
wrong answer. "oh, i'll wait. indeed, let's wait, lord el-melloi ii! to think that there was a lord who would barge in uninvited to a maiden's personal chambers! you are a disgrace to the entire clock tower!" around her, a terrifying amount of power began to well up around the embarrassed girl.
"i'm saying, it's not like that! i just went to the room bearing my angelic name like i was told!" from the way waver cried out in panic and shoved the envelope at the girl, it's obvious he knew the danger of the situation. on the envelope, the name 'mihael' is inscribed.
the girl studies the envelope, and then looks up. "but the angelic name for this room is 'michael', is it not?"
"what?" waver looks to the side. certainly enough, it's michael. "...that...certainly seems to be the case."
"s-sorry." it's the hooded girl this time that speaks, embarrassed. "it looks like i made a mistake."
but the other girl doesn't seem frazzled anymore. if anything, she looks like she's ready to attack her prey. the energy around her grows, dangerously. "of course, that means that you're prepared for the consequences, correct?"
and, without reaching the end... the scene ends there.
now waver is the one who has his head buried in his hands, clearly ashamed of himself. ]

Almost none of them start with Rebecca actually considering herself. But now she's forced to watch herself almost make a realization again. Confronted with it for the second time, it's obvious she... should be working on herself.
That's the scariest thing in the world.
She watches the memory play out from Waver's point of view.]
... Did she beat you up because you read a name wrong? [What an extreme overreaction.]

[ he groans. ]
She's part of a very important family of Magi. To those families, things like honor and power are very important to them. Something like this is a grave transgression to them...as exaggerated as it may seem to you or I.

I mean I know plenty of very proud people but I don't think they'd threaten anybody with death for humiliating them. Maybe the death of their social life? That's the closest it would get.

[ he's so tired. waver's explaining this like it's the most normal thing in the world you know? ]

Aren't you one too? You seem pretty human to me.
no subject
[ also excuse you rebecca he is a very SHITTY magus. big difference. ]
no subject
So you're in a weird part of society where you aren't really welcomed by normal people, but the Magi you'r part of don't like you either.
... Why do you have the title Lord then?
no subject
[ there are a LOT of details missing in that statement but... as long as rebecca doesn’t ask... ]

[ he's having a fun life ]
no subject
Anyway, being stuck here doesn't lessen any of that, I bet.

[ he could have traveled the rest of the world or have given up his dreams to become a magus. he could've led a more normal life, suited for someone like him. probably the life that his mother would have wanted for him.
and have been thoroughly unhappy. ]
As they say, when life gives you lemons, make lemonade.
no subject
[She's definitely heard that saying before. But for her it's more like when life gives you lemons you live with the sourness for 28 years.]
no subject
Sure it is. Magi are the only fools that will willingly and recklessly pursue something that will bring them nothing but hardships.
no subject
And you're a Magi. Trying to tell me something about yourself, bud?
no subject
[ hMPH??? WE MAY BE HISTORIANS BUT??? BUD???? ]
But yes. I said what I said, and I don't take it back.
