It's been eight weeks of this hell. And now I know what it feels like to get strangled.

I probably have to talk to my therapist about almost being strangled? I'll get committed if I say anything that actually happened here.

Are you going back home?

... Yeah, let's not tell your therapist about that part. Or, um, anyone? Have you considered a diary?

[Diaries are good confidents for murder trauma. She would know.]

I, um... I am. I... I want to give being normal a shot again. You know— Go to college. Drink overpriced coffee. The works.

... No. That won't work. [There's definitely a lot more behind that 'no', but that's what Veronica gets for now.]

Yeah. Going back to normal wouldn't be bad, after everything. Work hard, okay? You're a smart girl and you can get whatever you want.

[Raising an eyebrow?? She won't push, though.]

I'm going to. Don't worry. Not even two months of being horribly traumatized are going to keep me from going to Stanford.

... What about you? What are your big plans now that this mess is over?

Oh, Stanford. [She actually takes this moment to look very seriously at Veronica.] My boss went there. Make sure you don't turn into an asshole like him.

... I'm probably going to try and look out for some people. I don't know how well I'll do, but somebody should.

I'd rather eat my fist than grow up to become an asshole.

[HONESTLY... Don't scare her, oh my god.]

I think... you're going to do better than you'd expect. You work hard to be a good person, Rebecca, and that's one of the most important parts. [a beat.] If you ask me, anyway.

But it immediately breaks into a sigh as she runs her fingers through her hair.]

I try. I try really hard, but I'm pretty sure I fuck up just as often. Or that I don't notice I've fucked up until really late. For a while I was wondering if I was the villain in my story.

Isn't that just being human? Trying and fucking up. I'd like to meet someone who doesn't fuck up twice for every time they do something perfectly.

Take it from someone who got sorted as a Villain for... really good reasons, actually. You're not.

[In this moment, there's a very long list of all the thing she's done that could in no way be considered good. Stalking her crush, several arson charges, guilt tripping her mother, running over a cat, breaking and entering twice--]

I really wish I was as sure as you seem to be.

I'm pretty sure Tiger chose my title. Since it feels like a huge joke. The men you love will never love you back, the only thing that happens on the road to love is suffering, I might as well turn into sea foam.

Ever considered saying fuck you to that? Just— You know, fuck it.

I'm seriously thinking about giving up on love right about now. It works out for other people, just not me.

... I'd argue against that, but every guy in your life sounds like a mess? [SORRY, REBECCA.] You could, um, take a vacation from love instead.
